About Chef Celebration
Chef Celebration is a non-profit organization created by chefs, for chefs in San Diego, California. Ever since its founding in 1995 by Ed Moore, the organization has been committed to providing opportunities for young chefs to hone their skills, expand their knowledge, and develop a network of industry professionals.
Our board of local chefs all donate their time and efforts to help raise the money necessary to make it all happen. Every year we put on a series of fundraising dinners at local restaurants, host unique events, and culminate our year with a beer garden event at The Lodge at Torrey Pines. All of the money raised from these activities goes towards providing opportunities for young chefs to further their culinary careers. These opportunities include: hands-on training classes, culinary field trips, events, and a fully funded scholarship to take accredited classes at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, CA.
Becoming a chef can be a difficult road, full of long hours, uncertainty, and hard work. We aim to help young chefs navigate the struggles and celebrate the triumphs that make a culinary career extraordinary, and rewarding.
Our Goals
Connect young chefs to our local coastal bounty
Foster relationships between chefs and farmers
Empower the next generation of great San Diego chefs
